Set dining tables in a quiet room

House rules · 2026

A few plain terms for the table and the site.

These lines cover the website, the Saturday note, and the way we hold chairs. They are not a performance of legal theatre.

The house

Tastetraveldine, 1496 Lower Water Street, Halifax, NS B3J 1R9, Canada. Opened in 2026.

Using this site

The pages are here so you can read the room, the larder, and the way we cook, then write to us if you want a seat. Do not scrape the menus into another product, and do not copy the journal as if it were yours. Photographs on this site show the kind of work we mean; the dishes change. If a page is wrong, tell us at [email protected] and we will fix the sentence.

Bookings

Holds, late arrivals, cancellations

A seating is held only when we have written back to say so. Please give us a day's notice if you cannot come; the room has twelve chairs and an empty one is a wasted fire. If you are more than fifteen minutes late for dinner and have not telephoned, we may give the place to someone we can still feed. The Sunday table works the same way, with a little more patience because the lunch is shared.

We may close a night for a buyout, a storm, or a failure in the larder that we will not cook around. If we cancel, we write or telephone using the details you gave.

The card

Menus are examples

Dishes listed on this site are examples of how we cook, not a fixed card. Allergens and other notes must be in your letter. We will do what a small pass can do. We will not promise a separate kitchen. Alcohol is served with dinner under the provincial liquor licence that a room like this is required to hold. We may refuse further pours if we think the night has had enough.

The site

Limitation, law, contact

The website is offered as information about a working kitchen. We try to keep hours and examples current. If a page is out of date, the Saturday note and the reply to your booking are the documents that govern the night. To the extent the law allows, we are not responsible for losses that come from relying on an old example dish or from a third-party map that loads beside our address.

These terms are used for a kitchen in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada. If we have to settle a dispute about the site or a booking, we will do that in Nova Scotia. Write to [email protected] or to the street address above. Telephone +1 902 429 3186.
